NEW funding is available for projects that aim to improve heart health by helping people to be fitter and healthier. Communities in Wales are being encouraged to apply for this funding which has been made available by Heart Research UK and SUBWAY® .
Healthy Heart Grants are being run by national heart charity, Heart Research UK, and are a result of the partnership between the charity and high street sandwich brand. SUBWAY® stores in Wales have raised the money through in-store fundraising and organisations can apply for funds from now until October 31 at noon.
Funding of up to £10,000 is available for community groups across Wales for original, innovative projects that promote heart health and reduce the risk of developing heart disease. Projects can address a variety of issues like healthy eating, physical activity and smoking cessation but the key focus must be heart health.
