The following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court sitting at Cardiff:

Daniel John Harrison, aged 34, of Murch Crescent, Dinas Powys, pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined £100 and his licence endorsed with three penalty points. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.

David John Cotter, aged 61, of Plas St Pol de Leon, Penarth, pleaded not guilty to but was found guilty of engaging in sexual activity in a public toilets. He was fined £375 and ordered to pay a £37 victim surcharge.

Samuel Parker, aged 25, of Wain Close, Penarth, pleaded guilty taking a vehicle without consent after which an accident occurred which caused damage to it. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for 12 months and a community order was made requiring him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £60 surcharge. He also pleaded guilty to one count of driving without insurance for which he received a £120 fine and one count of driving a vehicle his licence did not authorise him to drive for which no separate penalty was given

Michael Burgoyne, aged 31, of Kipling Close, Penarth, pleaded guilty to stealing various items to the value of £198.12 from ASDA, Barry. He was given a 23 week prison sentence, due to a record of previous offending, and ordered to pay an £80 surcharge.

John James Perkins, aged 59, of Cornerswell Road, Penarth, pleaded guilty to exceeding a 30mph speed limit at Colchester Road, Cardiff. He received three penalty points, was fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.
