A YOUNG boy from Dinas Powys had a night to remember as he sang with music legend Bruce Springsteen in front of 40,000 people.
On Friday, June 3, Haydn Craven, 9, and his parents Ritchie and Sally who have been attending Bruce Springsteen concerts since the 1980s, travelled to Coventry to see the American star in action.
Haydn was attending his third Bruce Springsteen concert but this was to be even more memorable than the others.
While singing Hungry Heart, one of Haydn's favourite songs, Bruce ran out onto a walkway and plucked Haydn from his mother's shoulders to sing with him in front of around 40,000 people at the Ricoh Arena.
Haydn described the experience afterwards as "bonkers."
He said: "You never think you are going to get anywhere near him let alone sing with him.
"Looking from the stage, the crowd was vast and a massive roar went around when I started to sing with him.
"I am just glad I remembered the words."
Haydn was brought up in a household where Bruce Springsteen's music is played at every opportunity.
Although a lover of more 'contemporary' music, he has been found singing Bruce Springsteen songs in school and has produced a PowerPoint presentation on the music icon for his school homework.
Commenting on the concert, Haydn's dad Ritchie said: "We are all still buzzing."
