The following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court sitting at Cardiff:
Daniel Reid, aged 22, of Plymouth Road, Penarth, was found guilty of speeding. He was fined £220 and his licence endorsed with three penalty points. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £22 surcharge.
Mark Pearcey. aged 48, of Arlington Road, Sully, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance. He was fined £315 and his licence endorsed with six penalty points.He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £31 surcharge.
James William Thomas Taylor, aged 28, of Myrtle Close, Penarth, pleaded guilty to unlawful damage of a car passenger window, possessing the class B drug amphetamine, stealing £48 worth of meat, razor blades and moisturiser, stealing a £25 watch and stealing two packs of dishwasher tablets. He was sentenced to three months in prison concurrent to an existing term.
Sophie Jane Mutton, aged 49, of Highwalls Avenue, Dinas Powys, pleaded guilty to speeding. She was fined £117 and her licence endorsed with three penalty points. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.
Joseph Paul Simmonds, aged 18, of Church Road, Penarth, pleaded guilty to stealing four cans of lager. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £115 surcharge.
