AN AUTOMOTIVE factor in Wales is planning to raise more than £30,000 to support the work of Sully-based children's hospice Ty Hafan.

Fast Parts Wales will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year and in honour of the achievement they hope to raise the money through its Fast Parts Grand Rainbow tour.

The family-orientated event see participants purchase a car with a £300 and decorate it in rainbow colours.

This year's route will allow children to get involved in the fun challenges while stopping off at designated check points.

Last year, the Rainbow tour exceeded expectations raising more than £20,000 thanks to the public and the automotive aftermarket industry.

Ty Hafan provides care and support to children and families throughout Wales, and has been chosen by the company as a charity close to their hearts.

Over the years, Fast Parts has carried out a number of fundraising initiatives, including donating £10 per person for every training event it holds.

Nathan Travis, director at Fast Parts Wales, said: “The rally is back by popular demand, except this year we’ve got a brand new name and it is going to be even bigger and better.

"£30,000 might seem like a tall feat but after experiencing the success and support of last year, we believe that anything is possible for this fantastic cause and we’re sure that our customers and the public will work harder than ever before to meet this target.

“The Grand Rainbow Tour is very much a family event and we welcome all members of the local community to join us on this fun-filled weekend as we travel around Wales raising money for this great cause.”

The Grand Rainbow Tour will take place from April 29 to May 1.
