A POPULAR Penarth pub is set to reopen this week following an extensive refurbishment.

The Albion on the corner of Glebe Street and Salop Street, closed on September 4 for the works and opens its doors again on Thursday, October 26.

It has been given a fresh new look inside and outside following what owners Brains describes as a "significant investment."

Floral carpets and worn furniture have been replaced with a brand new bar and seating area.

There is also a new drinks menu offering Brains and guest products and bar meals as well as Sunday lunch.

The Albion has a long-standing reputation for live music in Penarth and acts have already been booked for the opening night and forthcoming weeks.

Brains business development manager Rob Cobb said: "I am really happy to see the Albion project coming to fruition.

"The pub has a long history serving the community in Penarth and the significant investment we have made will see that this continues for many years to come.

"Our tenant partner, Mark Pearson, has worked alongside us to make The Albion the top place to go and socialise in Penarth and we are sure customers old and new will be delighted with what they find when the doors open on Thursday"

The refurbishment is the latest project carried out by Design Management Partnership (DMP) for Brains following investment in pubs across Cardiff including The Victoria Park in Canton and The Fox and Hounds in Whitchurch over the last 12 months.
