The following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court sitting at Cardiff:

David Carols Aragundez, 28, of Corinthian Close, Llandough, pleaded guilty to one count of assault and one count of possessing cannabis. He was sentenced to 20 weeks imprisonment suspended for 24 months. He was ordered to carry out 150 hours unpaid work within the next 12 months. He was ordered to pay £500 compensation, £620 costs and a £115 surcharge and fined £100.

Jason Charles Northey, aged 27, of Criccieth Court, Dinas Powys, was found guilty of driving without insurance. He was fined £440 and his licence endorsed with six points. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £44 surcharge.

Kieran Lee Hagon, aged 27, of Shakespeare Avenue, Penarth, pleaded guilty to one count of assault and one count of damaging a wall. A community order requiring 90 hours unpaid work within the next 12 months was made. A restraining order was also made. He was ordered to pay £400 compensation, £620 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Christine Ahmed, aged 59, of Lavernock Road, Penarth, pleaded guilty to speeding. She was fined £61 and her licence endorsed with three points. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Wenliang Li, aged 30, of Tennyson Road, Penarth, pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined £88 and his licence endorsed with three points. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Colin Mark Smith, aged 51, of Hayes Road, Sully, pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined £100 and his licence endorsed with three points. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
