THE latest in our From the Archives series focuses on an area of Penarth Marina.

Each week we will be exploring the history behind a photograph of Penarth from years gone by.

This week’s photograph shows the marina lock gate in 1990.

This was taken before construction on the barrage had begun.

The old seaweed covered moorings from the original dock can be seen in the foreground of the picture.

Thanks to Andrew Coslett from Images of Bygone Penarth for this week’s picture.

We are always looking for historical photos of the town and surrounding area.

If you have any photos you wish to share, get in touch with us.

Send us your photos by emailing penarthtimes@penarthtimes.co.uk along with a short description of the background to the photo and a brief description behind the picture and yours could be the next to feature.
