THIS week’s From The Archive piece features the original Sadler’s shop in the Royal Buildings, Victoria Road before the First World War.
The fishmonger and game merchants is on the right of this fascinating photograph and on the left is the fruit, vegetables and florists.
Charles Henry Sadler opened these stores more than 100 years ago.
In this photograph he can be seen standing in the doorway wearing a striped apron.
Many thanks to Paul Stickler, an ex-Penarthian who is now living in Canada, for supplying the photograph of his grandfather Charles Sadler.
If you have any historical images of Penarth let us know.
Email them to penarthtimes@penarthtimes.co.uk with a short description of what is in the picture and your photograph could be the next to feature in our From The Archive series looking at the history of the town.
