A BURGLARY which took place in the early hours of Wednesday, March 28 is being investigated by police, after a large quantity of meat was stolen from the Barons Court public house.
According to police, two men gained access to a cold store at the Penarth Road premises and removed a large quantity of gammon, beef, turkey and bacon, as well as confectionary including boxes of Flake chocolate bars.
The estimated value of the theft is in excess of £1,000.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of the Barons Court between 4am and 5am on Wednesday morning.
Officers also want to hear from anyone who may have been offered any meat for sale, and are warning the public that it may not have been stored appropriately and could be unsafe to eat.
