THIS week’s nostalgia photo in our ‘From the archive’ section looks back to 1970s Penarth.
This interesting image of Masefield Road from some point in the early 1970s shows the residential street after a period of heavy snowfall around the town.
Local residents can be seen busily clearing pathways and the road, while there are just a handful of cars present – half submerged by the snow.
Many thanks to Rick Lewis and Andrew Coslett, of the Images of Bygone Penarth Facebook Page, for supplying this week’s photo.
We would love to see any old photographs of Penarth, Sully and Dinas Powys you may have.
If you have any old photograph that you would like to see included in the Penarth Times, please email penarthtimes@penarthtimes.co.uk, along with a description of what the image depicts and when it was taken.
