POLICE are investigating an incident in which a man tried to use a fake Bank of Ireland £50 note at a store in Penarth last week.
South Wales Police say the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, April 3, is the second such attempt to pass off counterfeit money in the area within the past couple of months.
Businesses are being warned that such incidents appear to be increasing in frequency, and police are reminding them and their staff to be vigilant.
If you have any suspicions of similar activities, contact police immediately on 999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
