POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Penarth which left a teenage boy in hospital.
The incident took place in the Wordsworth Avenue area of the town at approximately 11pm on Wednesday, April 11.
The 17-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his face and back, which are not thought to be life-threatening.
Detective Inspector Terry Hopkins said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area just prior or afterwards to come forward.
“We know there were a lot of people in the area around the time in the incident, so we are asking anyone with any information – no matter how small – to get in touch."
