ST. AUGUSTINE'S Church in Penarth is to celebrate the rescheduled Women's World Day of Prayer (WWDP) on Friday, April 20.

The event is centred around the theme, ‘God's Creation is Very Good', which reflects on Psalm Eight.

An estimated 3million people around the world will join together in a service which has this year been written by the women of Suriname in South America.

Starting in Samoa as the sun rises, and ending as the sun sets off the coast of American Samoa, the service has been translated into more than 95 languages and 1,000 dialects.

The service asks members of the global congregation to pray for conservation and the protection of wildlife, as well as for the situation in Suriname.

Men, women and children are all welcome at the service, which begins at 1.45pm and will be followed by refreshments.
