WATERLOO Tea is showing its support for cancer charity Maggie’s by promoting the charity’s 'Kitchen Table Day', which takes place on April 27.

People are encouraged to hold events around their own kitchen tables – or in work or school – and come up with their own ideas for spending time with friends and family, in order to raise money for Maggie's.

Some of the ideas suggested by the charity include afternoon tea, cocktails or even book clubs.

Maggie’s Cardiff is being built in the ground of Velindre Cancer Centre and will open its doors in early 2019 for people in South East Wales who have been affected by a cancer diagnosis.

Rachael Davies, centre fundraising manager for Maggie’s Cardiff, said: "Kitchen Table Day is all about getting friends and family together around your kitchen table, or colleagues together in the workplace, for cake, coffee or even a three course dinner.

"We’re so grateful to Waterloo Tea for joining us this year – our first Kitchen Table Day for Maggie’s Cardiff."

Aisha Ali from Waterloo Tea said: "We’re delighted to be able to support Maggie’s Kitchen Table Day and help raise funds for the new Maggie’s Cancer Centre in Cardiff.

"All of our customers are welcome to join us in our tea houses across Cardiff on April 27 to support this great charity."
