PEOPLE in Penarth were in for a bit of excitement when actor, stand-up comedian and writer Eddie Izzard popped into Griffin Books for a book-signing.
Around 200 people braved the rain and dreary weather to queue ahead of the 3pm meet and greet on Sunday, July 29.
Mr Izzard has been in Penarth recently along with actress Dame Judi Dench and Jim Broadbent as Penarth Pier and the Esplanade is used as the backdrop for scenes in Six Minutes to Midnight, a historical thriller.
Eddie Izzard is one of the film’s writers, which tells the story of an exclusive girls’ finishing school, set in Golden Grove, that caters for the daughters of the Nazi elite before the outbreak of World War Two.
Speaking about Mr Izzard coming to Griffin Books to sign copies of his memoir Believe Me, bookshop owner Mel Griffin said: “We would like to thank Eddie Izzard for taking the time out of his busy filming schedule to come and see us, Richard Parry for making the connections and everyone who queued in the wet weather to attend.
“We’re still buzzing from it!”
