PUPILS from a Penarth primary school trekked up a mountain to help raise more than £1,000 for their school.

Felix Badmington, six, and around 14 of his school friends from Evenlode Primary and their parents, took to Pen-y-Fan earlier this month to raise money for classroom items and more for their school’s foundation phase.

Felix created his own sponsorship form which he handed out to the class, before they decided on what they would do to raise the money.

With more than £1,000 raised for the school, Felix and his class will now come up with a wish list of what they would like in the school.

Mum Maria Prosser said that everyone enjoyed the event and that she was very proud of Felix.

She said: “The children had an amazing day and thoroughly enjoyed it even though it was quite challenging. Some of the children described it as the best day of their lives.”

Class teacher Emma Thomas said: “I feel super proud! Over a thousand pounds raised , that’s amazing!”
