A SET of twins have helped save the day by becoming part of a play.

The Penarth Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) have been practising for their upcoming play – The Darling Buds of May – which will be shown from October 10 - 12 in the Paget Rooms.

However, there was a bit of a panic when after a few months of rehearsals, when the two girls playing the roles of Ma and Pop Larkin’s twin daughters were unable to continue their roles in the play.

But a set of twins have come to the rescue at the last minute to help save the play.

Brooke and Eryn Davies are 10-year-old twins who attend Victoria School and have enabled The Darling Buds of May production to continue.

A spokeswoman for PODS praised the girls for their help and said: “Brooke and Eryn are the cousins of another PODS member and are lovely identical twins who attend Victoria School, they are very enthusiastic and happy performers.

“PODS are so happy they have joined us for our production which is on course to be a great success.”

The Darling Buds of May will be on in the Paget Rooms from October 10 to 12.

Tickets are available from 029 2071 2260, pods-penarth.org or from Griffin Books.
