SCHOOL pupils gathered at Merthyr Dyfan cemetery, in Barry, on Friday, November 9 to remember those who died in past conflicts.
The children placed crosses at the cemetery – joining Royal British Legion Barry branch members in honouring service personnel.
Youngsters from Oak Field, Jenner and Romilly primaries and St Richard Gwyn RC schools paid their respect alongside Barry Town council representatives, Barry mayor Cllr Janice Charles and deputy lord lieutenant of the Vale of Glamorgan, Colin Jones.
Father Ben Andrews officiated at the service which saw youngsters, veterans and official lay wreaths and poppy crosses at the memorial.
Pupils read the war poem In Flanders Fields by John McCrae, as part of the proceedings.
A two-minute silence was held at 11am.
