MASTER brewers Crafty Devil are launching a crowdfunding campaign to open a new bar in Penarth.

Brewery founders and childhood friends Adam Edinborough and Rhys Watkins grew up in Penarth, and have described the planned new venue as a "homecoming".

The venue, dubbed "Cellar Penarth", will have seven taps dedicated to Crafty Devil brews, a large selection of wines and spirits and a menu full of locally sourced food.

The new bar has already secured its premises, and has planned to open on April 1, 2019.

Adam said: "Since we started in 2014, our passion has always been to brew beer that we wanted to drink and to run venues that are hubs of the community. Penarth holds so many memories for us and now we get to create new stories, new friends and even better beer."

"Penarth has always had a thriving independent business scene and we are thrilled to be joining them," added Rhys. "If you look at the High Street it is always changing and for us, it makes perfect business sense."

Crafty Devil already run two popular venues in Cardiff - The Cellar in Canton, and Beelzebubs in the city centre.

Investing early comes with a range of perks, running from bar tabs and discounts to a plaque in the new pub for the biggest fundraisers.
