EBBW Vale will look to throw a spanner in the works of Bargoed’s mini revival at Eugene Cross Park tomorrow (kick-off 2.30pm).

The visitors face the Steelmen on the back of bonus-point victories against relegated Neath and mid-table Swansea.

Tries from John Lavender, Rhys Buckley, Barney Nightingale and Ashley Norton saw then edge out the All Whites 31-26.

Bargoed’s successive wins are likely to have come too late in their bid to stay in the Principality Premiership, but they certainly won’t be throwing in the towel until survival is impossible.

They haven’t won three on the trot this term and tackle an Ebbw team who lost to Carmarthen Quins last time out.

Ebbw could yet claim third place, however, all the sides above them in the table have played fewer matches.

Their recent form has been somewhat sketchy with one triumph in four leaving them fifth, four points adrift of Llandovery and Pontypridd.

They will be looking for a league double against their Gwent rivals tomorrow after winning 35-21 at Bargoed Park back in early December.

Elsewhere in the Premiership, RGC 1404 host Aberavon, Carmarthen visit Pontypridd and Swansea welcome Cardiff to St Helen’s.

Down in the Championship, champions Pontypool will be eager to get over their National Cup semi-final loss to Merthyr by securing an 18th consecutive win of the campaign against Bedlinog.

The Foxes travel to Pontypool Park sitting seventh following a 23-17 reverse at the hands of Beddau last Saturday.
