PENARTH has been named as one of the ten best places to live in Wales.
The town has retained its spot in the top ten list, published annually by The Sunday Times.
The paper's "Best Places to Live Guide 2019" was published on Sunday April 14.
The article praised the town, noting that "The best place to live in Cardiff isn't Cardiff," but a short journey down the coast.
Praise was heaped on several of the town's independent retailers and venues, including interiors shop Benjamin's, grocer Windsor Fruit Stores and the Ocho Lounge.
Approval for its public spaces, Belle Vue, Cosmeston Lakes Country Park and Penarth Head, as well as the iconic Penarth Pier, was lavished upon the town.
The article further quoted Mel Griffin, owner of independent bookshop Griffin Books, as saying the town had a "distinct identity" despite being close to Cardiff, and that it has "a strong community spirit."
The paper finishes by summing up why The Sunday Times loves it: "There’s nothing wrong with Penarth posh".
The town of Crickhowell topped the list of best places to live in Wales.
