A GROUP of fundraisers have hit a huge milestone in their campaign.

Penarth Fundraising Group are celebrating after raising more than £200,000 for Marie Curie in total.

The group marked the milestone with a celebration at Willmore’s 1938 to thank supporters for their efforts.

The group of campaigners promote fundraising within the local community by organising activities like a bi-annual quiz and fashion shows, encouraging new volunteers for the charity, and supporting Marie Curie’s fundraising campaigns such as the Great Daffodil Appeal and Blooming Great Tea Party.

All money raised by the Penarth Fundraising Group will help Marie Curie provide expert care, guidance and support to help people with a terminal illness, and their families, get the most from the time they have left.

Hannah Leckie, community fundraiser for Cardiff and the Vale said: “I am so proud to support the wonderful volunteers that have supported the fundraising efforts of the Penarth Fundraising Group.

“The group are such a key part of the local community and their support for the Cardiff and Vale Hospice and Hospice at Home services in the area is outstanding.”
