SEVEN people have been jailed for more than 30 years, following an operation to clamp down on the supply of Class A drugs in the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend.

The seven, including one man from Penarth, were jailed on Tuesday and Wednesday, following a further six people charged for drug offences on Monday.

Cardiff Crown Court heard the defendants were caught by officers as part of Operation Red Dragon.

They were charged with conspiring to supply heroin and conspiring to supply crack cocaine, both class A controlled drugs.

Joshua Wheatley, 20, of St Luke’s Avenue, Penarth, was sentenced to four years, eight months on Tuesday.

The following were sentenced on Wednesday:

Joseph Allan Crane, 20, of Powis View, Barry, was sentenced to four years, eight months.

Rhys Leismeier, 32, of Thompson Street, Barry, was sentenced to two years.

Mark Forrester, 46, of Irving Place, Barry, was sentenced to five years, 11 months.

Teejay Chesaites, 21, of Hathaway Place, Barry, was sentenced to five years, eight months.

Liam Joyce, 24, from Ramsey Road, Barry, was sentenced to four years, eight months.

Victoria Caldwell, 34, of Irving Place, Barry, was sentenced to five years, four months.

A further two people will be sentenced today.

Six people were sentenced earlier this week.

Detective Sergeant Julian Kerslake said: “Ultimately our aim is to make South Wales a hostile environment for organised crime groups and we are committed to disrupting and dismantling these organisations.”

He added: “I’d like to thank the public, who’s reporting of concerns and suspicions assisted us in building information against these criminals, and also to thank all the officers involved in the investigation for their work in securing yet another positive outcome.”
