TEENAGE revellers are being warned by police after reports they are planning to hold parties in fields this weekend.

Lewes Police issued the warning after hearing youths were arranging to gather in open spaces in Lewes over the bank holiday weekend.

A spokesman said: "We would like to remind anyone thinking of attending such an event that holding a party on private land without the owner’s or council’s permission could constitute as an offence.

"If we receive any reports of antisocial behaviour or disorder, then those present will be dispersed.

"Parents of teenage children are advised to check on their whereabouts this weekend.

If you see anything suspicious please report it to us.

"Operation Blitz runs 6pm to 12am every Friday and Saturday and you can contact officers on a direct phone number to report anti social behaviour here - 07989188960.

"Outside of these times contact us on 999 in an emergency and 101 in a non emergency."
