A 31-YEAR-OLD man from Barry has been arrested on suspicion of three separate arson attacks.
He has been arrested in connection with the Iceland van fire, in Holton Road, Barry, on Wednesday, April 24; a Royal Mail van fire, also in Holton Road, on Monday, May 6 and a car fire related to a red Daihatsu, in Gladstone Road, Barry, also on May 6.
CCTV footage had captured the scene where the Iceland van driver’s window was smashed and the vehicle set alight while it was parked behind the store.
An Iceland spokesman said: “One of our delivery vans was deliberately set on fire at our Barry store.
“We have CCTV footage of two people breaking the driver’s window and setting fire to the vehicle.
“The van is a write-off.
“An adjacent van was also badly damaged by the fire, but can be repaired.”
The man has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
