A NEW branch of a popular frozen food retailer will open its doors tomorrow.

Heron Foods will open a store in Tonge Moor Road, where the Starkie Arms pub used to be.

It is set to open tomorrow at 8.45am with a performance from the Tonge Moor Primary Academy choir.

Hope 4 Homeless UK will also be on hand this morning to officially open the new store along with store manager Neil Humes and Heron Foods’ marketing manager, Charlotte Collinson.

Neil Humes, who has worked for Heron Foods for over 20 years, said: “We’re incredibly excited about the opening of our brand new store and I’m hugely proud of everyone who has worked together to get us opened on time and looking so fantastic.

"We will work with local people and groups to identify ways that we can do our bit for the regeneration of the area.”

The new 3,500 sq ft store sees the store’s 15 employees take up their new roles for the first time and the first 100 customers spending £5 or more will be able to pick up a goodie bag worth over £5 while being entertained by the performance from the school’s choir made up of five to 11-year-olds.
