West Felton residents turned out in their hundreds to celebrate the village’s biggest annual event.

The West Felton Carnival took place on Sunday, July 14 with displays and events throughout the day to keep the residents and visitors entertained.

Summer weather held out for the day with sunshine beaming down on the procession which set off around the village early in the afternoon.

Spectators were treated to events on the stage with an array of local groups performing their arts.

Portywaen Band were first up to play for those in attendance, before West Felton School singers.

Then came a performance by MD Warriors Martial Arts Club.

Fishermans Friends and Border Counties Gymnastics were among other performers later in the afternoon.

A spokesman for the carnival posted on Facebook: “A great big thank you to everyone that came along.

“A huge thank you to our judges. And finally, thank you to all those involved – from setting up the gazebos, to serving the beer. We couldn’t do it without all the wonderful volunteers.”
