AN APPRENTICE winner who has built an army of cake-loving ambassadors paid a visit to Rhyl to discuss her journey to success.

During an evening at Clwyd Chambers, Alana Spencer talked about how she created her Ridiculously Rich cake franchise. She also gave her view on Rhyl and said the beaches were 'a credit to the town'.

Speaking to guests, Alana said: "I have been here for three days now. I have honestly had the best time."

Alana gave her 'top tips' for anyone wanting to start a business.

She added: "Keep an eye on your numbers, make sure you are actually making money, don't be afraid to change something if it isn't working.

"Don't let your pride get in the way of making it work."

Alana won BBC's The Apprentice in 2016. Ridiculously Rich began in a little country kitchen in West Wales

Hannah James, director of Clwyd Chambers, said: "Alana Spoke about her journey at 17, not completing her A levels, living in Wales and setting up her business in Wales. She now has ambassadors to sell her products and is moving into retail shops.

"She has opened a new bakery from Flint to mid Wales and was very inspiring to the entrepreneurs in the room.

"She thought Clwyd chambers was ideally placed to assist small growing businesses in the 21st century an invaluable resource."

The event was organised by Yr Hwb Menter - The Enterprise Hub at M-SParc.
