THOUSANDS of people turned out in Cardiff to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pride Cymru – the LGBT+ celebration of diversity and individuality – on Saturday, August 24.

The colourful mile-long parade through Cardiff city centre was led by First minister, Mark Drakeford who was joined by Cardiff South and Penarth MP, Stephen Doughty and Vale councillor and Barry Town Council deputy mayor, Cllr Leighton Rowlands.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council was one of many Wales’ councils represented.

Retailers, banks, police, scouts and guides, and numerous charities also took part.

The three-day festival kicked off on Friday, August 23 and Atomic Kitten, Texas and Liberty X are among the musical acts to perform.

The first Pride Barry will take place in the town on Saturday, September 21.
