A WOMAN aged 93 had a dream realised when she was taken on a helicopter flight.

At Penarth’s Morel Court, the management and care team are always looking for ways to enable the residents to seize the day. Mrs Pat Dean, a resident of Morel Court residential home, had always wished to fly in a helicopter. So staff and carers there helped make her wish come true, with Mrs Dean taking to the skies on Saturday, August 17, with Hover Helicopters of Cardiff.

When Mrs Dean found out that arrangements had been made for her to fly, a spokeswoman for the care home said “she could not stop smiling right up to the day it happened”.

The spokeswoman said: “Pat’s family were elated to find out their mum had flown, as she has only been abroad once in her life.” Mrs Dean was accompanied by a carer from the home, Chelsea Dent, on her short flight.

When asked if she would do it again, Mrs Dean said: “Yes. I really enjoyed the experience, so thank you to those who put it together for me.”
