A writer and producer of a film shot in Oswestry and surrounding areas is inviting people to come to its premiere next month.

Adam Howes, 36, attended The Marches, and has written and produced 'The End of All Things' with Llangollen-based director/producer Andrew Gale.

The pair knew exactly where they wanted to film when it came to choosing locations, believing the remote locations offered from Oswestry to Llangollen were perfect for a film that deals with post-apocalyptic themes.

"I'm from the area and I'm a writer and director," said Adam. "I live in Oswestry but work as a musician and writer all over the world.

"The film we wanted to make needed remote locations and rural Oswestry and North Wales was perfect.

"It's a post-apocalyptic film so we needed really remote locations which they fitted.

"We filmed in Llangedwyn as well as using Oswestry for interiors, but some filming in Llangollen, where the other writer and director Andrew gale is from, plus some shots in Llanarmon plus in the Glyn Ceiriog Valley too.

"I've lived in Oswestry for most of my life and Andrew is from Llangollen.

"I'm proud that we've used here and can show it off. we wanted to make the film here because it helped keep our budget down but also shows off what the area is like.

"We have a distribution ready to go in America and it will be out next year but we're also hoping it will be out in Britain at some point, while we'll distribute across the world too."

The film is based 20 years after the end of a nuclear war which has decimated the world's population and follows a teenage boy's choice between blind hope and survival.

It stars Harry Davies, who is from Oswestry and the 15-rated film will be premiered at Llangollen Town Hall on November 23 from 7.30pm.
