OVER £20,000 was raised in Penarth for this year's Poppy Appeal.
Poppy Appeal co-ordinator and vice-chairman of the Penarth Branch, Neil Pugh said: "We would like to thank the people of Penarth for their tremendous generosity in raising the fantastic sum of £23,873.33.
"It is a fitting reward for all the efforts of members and dedicated volunteers who have given up their time freely.
"We would also like to thank all those who helped to organise and participated in this year’s Remembrance parade and services.
"It is humbling and gratifying to know that people today continue to remember and acknowledge the service and sacrifice of others.”
