THE Vale council is proposing to use s106 funding from nearby developments to upgrade facilities at Central Park in Barry
Central Park, located behind Barry Library and Wyndham Street car park, in Barry town centre.
It currently has a play area, basketball court and youth shelter as well as benches.
The Council has received £144,000 from nearby developments to upgrade public open spaces and has identified Central Park as an area in need of improvement.
The council is proposing to upgrade and expand the existing play area; upgrade the multi-use games area; install an interactive 'Sona' play unit; replace the gates on the play area; install new bins, seating and a water refill station; remove the youth shelter to expand the play area; and improve facilities for hosting events in the park.
The Authority wants to capture the views of local residents on these proposals.
A drop-in session will be held in Barry Library, King Square, from 4pm to 6.30pm on Monday, March 2.
