Refurbishment works to create a modern, open-plan changing village at the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Penarth Leisure Centre have been completed.

There are pool changing facilities with brand-new showers and toilets, along with revamped dry sports changing areas.

The changing village has cubicles and lockers on offer to create a fully accessible space that gives all users more privacy, whilst groups and families have more space to change together.

The new village includes an additional entrance area, individual changing cubicles, group changing areas, and family changing cubicles

It also includes open and cubicle showering, male and female toilets, accessible WC, changing cubicles, and showers.

The modern facilities provide clean, bright, and open-plan changing spaces.

A no-shoes policy will be in place in pool changing areas to improve hygiene and maintenance.

Councillor Kathryn McCaffer said: “These new facilities will offer users of Penarth Leisure Centre a modern, comfortable space in which to change. They provide more privacy if required, while families and groups also have the option of changing together.

“This upgrading follows on from similar work carried out at Barry Leisure Centre last year. We hope such improvements will make visiting our leisure centres a more enjoyable experience and encourage a greater number of residents to become active.”
