SOUTH Wales Police have released a statement after arresting a man and woman in possession of cocaine, cannabis, several mobile phones, and money.

In a statement on Facebook, they said: "Last Friday afternoon (April 3rd) we stopped a car in Penarth and carried out a search where we found cocaine, cannabis, a number of mobile phones and a quantity of cash.

"Both occupants of the car were arrested.

"Tryston Winton, 33, from Penarth has been charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Cardiff Crown Court on May 18th.

"A 43 year-old woman who was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis has been released under investigation."

Penarth neighbourhood PC Sophie Watkins said: “Even during these difficult times we will still be out and about tackling crime and keeping our communities safe.
