SOUTH Wales Police officers took “positive action” following reports of up to 30 youths gathering at Maslin Park, Barry Island, on Thursday, July 2.
Police attended the park, adjoining Plymouth Road, after residents reported anti-social behaviour issues.
A group of between 20 and 30 youths were seen drinking and leaving glass bottles and litter.
In a tweet, South Wales Police Vale of Glamorgan said: “Positive action was taken with the youths and officers cleaned the litter for the public to enjoy.”

Previous incidents have been noted by nearby residents.
Baruc Vale and Barry Town councillor, Steffan Wiliam said: “Our police have been heroic over the last few weeks and I'd like to thank them publicly for helping keep Marine Drive, the Knap and the Island safe during the lockdown.
“However, trying to deal with the tide of people intent on flouting restrictions and selfishly endangering public safety has put a massive strain on them both physically and mentally.
“They are not omnipresent.
“It's such a shame that these individuals have shown no consideration for their fellow human beings and acted in such a cavalier and dangerous manner.
“They need to be dealt with so that they understand the consequences of their actions and their effect on others.
“This might prompt them to learn different and positive behaviours.
