PENARTH Town Council is inviting the public to give their views on the town centre post lockdown.

The council says that the information provided through the online questionnaire on its website will enable "proactive representation of views at central and local government level".

The town council does not not have control over highways, parking, pedestrianisation and trading laws, but is a body that can put forward its suggestions to the Vale council for changes to be discussed.

The questionnaire focuses on parking in the town, accessibility of amenities, outdoor space, and combining safety with commercial viability.

The council says outdoor space "offers a potential lifeline, particularly to the hospitality sector", in the wake of some debate in the town over how parking restrictions are implemented.

Bollards have been out in place this week on Glebe Street by Vale council to deter drivers from parking, and allowing extra room for social distancing.

You can take the survey by following https://www.penarthtowncouncil.gov.uk/your-council/penarth-post-covid-your-views-on-our-town-centre/. It closes on July 30.
