Cox, of Church Road, was also ordered to pay a £100 surcharge and £85 costs at Cardiff Magistrates' Court.
She is a partner at the Dinas Powys Medical Centre.
A spokesperson for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said: “The health board is fully aware of Dr Angharad Cox’s arrest and conviction.
"We can confirm Dr Cox is a GP partner at Dinas Powys Medical Centre and not an employee of the health board.
"We are working closely with Dr Cox and the senior partner at the practice throughout this period to provide support where necessary and appropriate.”
