THE Vale of Glamorgan Council is removing some of the semi-permanent bollards from town centres as the measures to keep people safe in these areas are refined.
With visitors returning to the high street, these measures have been adjusted in light of experience and to make space for hospitality businesses.
The council has also made £500,000 available for upgrading work to all five town centres in the Vale and a firm of urban designers have been commissioned to recommend ways in which these locations can be improved.
However, despite these changes, it is important to stress that coronavirus has not gone away so social distancing and frequent hand washing remain important.

Vale council cabinet member for neighbourhood services and transport, Cllr Peter King said: “The safety measures introduced to town centres are under constant review and subject to change as we learn more.
“Our approach is influenced by the latest medical advice and the ongoing dialogue taking place with town centre businesses.
“We will continue to streamline our response to the virus as part of this learning process.
“However, I want to make it absolutely clear that coronavirus remains a major threat and it is important residents continue to follow safety guidance.”
