THE Vale council has released more detailed information concerning two Barry primary schools affected by covid-19.
A staff member in Ysgol St Baruc tested positive for coronavirus with 19 nursery and 30 reception pupils now self-isolating.
And a staff member at Palmerston Primary School tested positive meaning three members of staff must self-isolate, but the school remains open to pupils.
The council confirmed that a group of pupils at special educational needs school, Ysgol y Deri had been asked to self-isolate as a precaution and there has been no confirmed positive case of covid-19 at the school.

A Vale of Glamorgan Council spokesman said: “Ysgol St Baruc has been informed by the NHS Wales Test, Trace and Protect system that one of its staff tested positive for covid-19.
“The school and council have been working closely with Public Health Wales to undertake a comprehensive risk assessment of the situation.
"Following this, one member of staff 19 nursery and 30 reception pupils have been asked to self-isolate for a period of 14 days.
“The school will remain open to other pupils.
“In addition to social distancing and safety measures in place, a deep clean of the school has been carried out. Test Trace and Protect officers are also carrying out all necessary follow-on activity.”
The council spokesman added: “Palmerston Primary School has been informed by the NHS Wales Test, Trace and Protect system that one of its staff tested positive for covid-19.
