A driver who crashed through the central reservation on the M4 yesterday later died of a cardiac arrest at home.

The man, in his 70s from the Gloucester area, sustained minor injuries after his black Dacia Duster left the eastbound carriageway near the Leigh Delamere services at around 11.15am yesterday. The car landed on its roof in the outside lane of the westbound carriageway.

He was taken to Southmead Hospital but when he returned home he suffered a cardiac arrest and died. 

Police are looking for any witnesses to the crash and enquiries are ongoing. 

A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: "Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

"We would like to hear from anyone with information about the collision, or anyone who may have dashcam footage. 

"Please call 101 and quote log number 90 of September 30."
