GREGGS, the leading food-on-the-go retailer in the UK, has confirmed it will open a new shop in Barry on Saturday, October 3.

The new shop in Briscombe Retail Park will provide a modern food-on-the go experience and has created a total of six new jobs for the local community, with any remaining jobs advertised at greggsfamily.co.uk

The opening comes as Greggs announced it would be opening 20 new shops across the UK in the remainder of 2020.

The new shop in Barry will feature a number of Greggs favourites, including sandwiches, savouries and sweet treats.

The shop’s staff will be on hand to serve a range of hot drinks from peppermint and green tea to cappuccinos and Americanos.

All Greggs coffee is made from a unique blend of mild, high grown Arabica beans from Peru and Colombia and rich tasting Robusta beans from Tanzania, meaning not only does it taste delicious, but it’s 100 per cent Fairtrade.

The new Greggs shop will also stock a range of vegan-friendly products, including the Vegan Steak Bake and Vegan Sausage Roll.

Katherine Lewis, shop manager at Cardiff Road, Barry, said: “We cannot wait to open our doors and welcome customers from the local community.

"We are pleased to offer customers a range of tasty items on the go, but also through Click and Collect.”

Retail and people director for Greggs, Roisin Currie said: “We’re delighted to be able to invest in Barry, bringing new jobs to the area and providing both new and existing customers with a modern and convenient new shop.”

The shop opening times are 6.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 5.30pm Saturday, and 9.30am to 4pm on Sunday.
