A HOTEL in Barry has devised a way in which it can address the issue of local lockdowns.

The Mount Rooms, in Porthkerry Road, is now offering the option of long-term stays for working professionals.

The hotel, which opened in December 2016, has small double, double and king size rooms.

Occupancy is one person per room, but two people can be considered in larger rooms.

Strict Government guidelines have been implemented throughout the hotel and the bar, bistro, beauty room and gym are all open with government guidelines in place.

Rooms start from £450 per calendar month with all bills included.

A Mount Rooms spokeswoman said: “It has been a really testing time throughout the pandemic for small businesses so Mount Rooms Hotel has been thinking of ways to adapt and ways in which we can still provide the top quality accommodation we offer in local lockdown.

“We launched our long term lets allowing people to stay in our hotel rooms with full use of our facilities for monthly contracts - minimum one month.

“Being so central in Barry, we think this is a huge benefit to the community for those looking for independence to those who urgently need it.”

She added: “We have always been passionate about providing accommodation for the community and with local lockdowns restricting guests to the hotel we have adapted the ways in which we provide our excellent service.

“We also know that the demand for rent in Barry is high and many people may want to be closer to their families during the current pandemic.”
