GREGGS has opened its fourth store in Barry – with it experiencing brisk trade since its doors opened to customers on Saturday, October 10.

The new shop in Briscombe Retail Park, off Cardiff Road, will provide a modern food-on-the go experience and has created 10 new jobs for the local community.

Greggs also has two stores in Holton Road and one store in Paget Road, Barry Island.

The shop in Barry features a number of Greggs favourites, including sandwiches, savouries and sweet treats – with some ‘hot’ products now on the menu.

The new Greggs shop will also stock a range of vegan-friendly products, including the Vegan Steak Bake and Vegan Sausage Roll.

Store manager, Kath Lewis said: “The opening went really good – better than what we expected.

“I think people were glad to see us.

“We were really busy.

“We were shocked and really happy.

“We have 10 staff and when people can sit in we’ll be able to fit in 15 to 20 people and we will eventually, when everything’s back to normal, have outside seating.

“It’s not like in our other stores.

“We’ve got a hot unit so we can sell popcorn chicken and potato wedges and I think that’s going to be a good seller.

“I haven’t done it in my other shops.

“And the breakfast deal is such a good deal.”

She added: “We can only have three in the store at a time, but they are all queuing, they’re all being patient.”

The store also operates a Click and Collect service.

The shop opening times are 6.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 5.30pm Saturday, and 9.30am to 4pm on Sunday.
