WORK will shortly begin on a development that will provide 23 council houses at Hayes Road, in Barry.

Consisting of 19 two-bedroom and four three-bedroom properties, these homes are being constructed by Pegasus Developments Ltd on brownfield site near the Atlantic Trading Estate.

They will boost the Vale council’s housing stock and help meet considerable demand for accommodation of this type.

This announcement comes just as work on another council housing development at Llys Llechwedd Jenner is completed, a £3.5 million project that provided 28-new purpose-built homes.
