Council leader, Cllr Neil Moore said: “We welcome the work of groups such as Stand Up To Racism in the Vale and I am looking forward to seeing the work of the Past, Present and Future exhibition and how the council could work to promote these important issues.”
Cllr Moore added: “The Vale of Glamorgan is committed to tackling racism and all forms of prejudice.
“The council has promoted Black History Month publicly and to our staff to raise awareness of these important issues which are particularly important following the Black Lives Matter movement earlier in the year.”
Co-chairwoman of SUTR Vale, Alison Woolcock said: “We are delighted to be working with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to recognise the achievements of black people whose positive achievements in their chosen fields are a cause for celebration in Black History Month 2020.”
She said SUTR would be collating a resource of information building on the 2020 exhibition piece.
“We are all in this together and we look forward to moving into our future together having a true and accurate history of the past,” she added.
