BARRY and Vale Tangent have launched its first Secret Santa Appeal.

The group's aim is to donate a gift to those children and young people within the local area, who might otherwise miss out at Christmas time.

And the group hopes your generosity will help to put a smile on so many young and deserving faces after a most difficult year.

Spokeswoman, Jackie Rogers said: "This pandemic has affected everyone, whether that be emotionally, physically or financially, but some parts of our community are particularly suffering.

"At the same time, it has been heart-warming to see the rise in community spirit and watching local projects blossom; this has been immensely inspirational and the generosity of people when we are in such a trying times really is overwhelming.

"This year, more than most, we want to give a little more, especially to those who would normally go without."

The group has worked in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan children’s services and Flying Start who have identified those in need.

To help, email barryandthevale19@gmail.com or Facebook message https://www.facebook.com/barryandvaletangent

In return you’ll be given a name, age and gender of a child to make your gift.

Do not gift wrap your gift, simply place it in a gift bag and label it with the details you have been given; you also have the option to include a little message if you wish.

Your gift will then need to be delivered to Hyper Value located, in Barry Island before Monday, December 7.

This will enable the group to deliver all your gifts to the children and young people in need in the Vale of Glamorgan in time for Christmas Day.
