A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

RHYS OWEN, 29, of Aberdovey Close, Dinas Powys, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug-driving with cannabis in his blood.

He was ordered to pay £569 in a fine, costs and surcharge.

IAN WAYNE MCDONNELL, 31, of Clos Y Cadno, Penarth, was banned from driving for five years after he pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen.

He was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months, made the subject of an alcohol treatment requirement, ordered to complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and must pay £213 in costs and a surcharge.

ZARA JOYCE, 38, of Cardiff Road, Dinas Powys, was conditionally discharged for 12 months after she admitted assault by beating.

She was ordered to pay £107 in costs and a surcharge.

HARVEY THOMAS CLARKE, 27, of Lavernock Road, Penarth, was ordered to pay £648 in a fine, costs and surcharge for speeding at 78mph in a 50mph in Swansea.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

KATHERINE CABASAN-ROSE, 46, of Spencer Drive, Llandough, was ordered to pay £253 in a fine, costs and surcharge after she admitted an offence under the Companies Act in that, as the director of a company called Speed Health Care Services Ltd, she failed to deliver a confirmation statement before the end of the period of 14 days after the end of a review.

HANNAH WALLACE, 36, of Chapel Close, Dinas Powys, was ordered to pay £100 in a fine and a surcharge for speeding at 49mph in a 40mph zone.

Her driving record was endorsed with three points.
