THE FAMILY of a popular Penarth husband, father, stepfather and grandad have paid tribute to him following his death.

Dennis Lush MBE, a community man known for his charity work with The Children’s Society and his love for gardening, passed away on December 18 at Llandough Hospital, aged 98.

His wife Ann Lush MBE paid tribute to a “darling and most loving husband”.

She said he was a “devoted father to Denzil and Christopher, and daughter-in-law Catherine”, and was an “adored stepdad of Stephen and Victoria”.

“He was a wonderful and most loving ‘Lobby’ to all his grandchildren and their husbands, and also to Timmy and all of the great grandchildren”.

Mrs Lush added: “He was a very well-loved and respected member of the community. His work with the parish of Penarth and Llandough, and his incredible fundraising for The Children’s Society, was awe inspiring.

“A private funeral will be announced in the near future when circumstances allow, and a memorial service will be held to celebrate a true gentleman that Dennis was and the many lives he touched.”
